IRVINE, Calif. (July 01, 2018) MBK Senior Living (MBK) is pleased to announce the appointment of Scott Ambrose as president of the Utah Assisted Living Association (UALA). Scott’s role will evolve over his three-year term, serving as president-elect in 2018, president in 2019, and past president in 2020. While taking on this important role, Scott will continue to lead MBK Senior Living’s Wellington community, where he has served as executive director for nearly four years.
“I’m a firm believer in the assisted living industry and the good it does for seniors on a daily basis,” said Ambrose. “I am excited to continue to help strengthen the senior living industry in Utah through the training and education of operators as well as collaborating with Utah’s lawmakers and regulatory officials. Our goal is to ensure that the State of Utah continues to be a national leader in senior living quality and affordability.”
Scott was nominated and elected for the presidency by UALA’s board of directors. During his term as president in 2019, he will lead the board and association. His responsibilities will include planning and organizing the annual UALA conference and continuing to strengthen the association’s relationship with Utah lawmakers through advocacy efforts.
As an active member of the association, Scott has served as treasurer and chair of the UALA Legislative Committee. In addition, he was a member of the California Assisted Living Association (CALA), where he served as a member of the Innovation in Quality Awards committee and actively participated in CALA’s advocacy efforts.
Scott’s appointment as UALA president ensures that MBK will have executive leadership representation in the association for five consecutive years. Chris Etherington, MBK director of operations, recently completed his term as UALA president and is now serving in the past president role.
